Most wholesale lei pricing online is either a single vague "contact us" or a retail price wearing a wholesale label. Here are our actual 2027 factory tiers, plus the reasoning behind each break point so you can plan around them.
Standard Braided Ribbon Lei
The 120cm 100% polyester braid in six stock school-color combinations. This is the volume product.

The jump from $1.20 to $0.75 is a 37% reduction. That is not a discount for loyalty; it is what happens when a single weaving setup runs longer without a color change.

Print setup is the fixed cost here. Once the year plate is made, additional units are cheap, which is why the tiers extend so far up.

What These Prices Do and Do Not Include
Included: manufacturing, standard packing, quality inspection.
Not included: freight, import duties, customs clearance. All prices are FOB Shenzhen in USD.
Freight matters more than buyers expect. On a 500-piece order at $0.75, the goods cost $375 - and air freight can exceed that. Sea freight on the same order is a fraction of the cost but adds 4-6 weeks. Plan the timeline and the freight mode together.
Where the Break Points Bite
The single most common costly mistake: ordering just under a tier boundary.
- 480 pcs at $0.91 = $436.80
- 501 pcs at $0.75 = $375.75
You get 21 more leis and pay $61 less. Before finalizing any quantity that lands within about 5% below a boundary, check the math on crossing it.
What Changes the Price Beyond Quantity
- Custom vs standard colors. Custom weaving requires a dedicated setup and adds cost at low volumes; at high volumes the difference narrows sharply.
- Print and embroidery complexity. A year number is cheap. A four-color mascot patch is not.
- Packaging. Bulk poly bags are standard. Individual retail packaging with your branding adds per-unit cost.
- Season timing. Orders placed in peak months compete for capacity. Ordering in the off-season gets better scheduling.
Comparing Against Marketplace Prices
Ready-made leis on Amazon and party retailers typically run $6-$10 for a single braided lei. That is a 8-13x markup over the $0.75 factory tier. For a reseller, this is the entire business case; for a school buying direct, it is the reason bulk ordering is worth the planning effort.
